If you have created an account on Bixex, editing your profile is the next step. Before then, know that the information you provide in this step would be seen by your potential customers, clients or employer. As such, ensure you should take your time and be as professional and honest as you can be. Do not make any mistake in the information you are putting out. You don’t even have to fill in all the details at once. Take your time. Having said that, follow the steps highlighted below to edit your profile.
Step 1
Log in to your Bixex account, a page would pop up asking that you ‘describe yourself.’ There are two available options you can choose from, the first is the “I’m a job seeker,” while the second is the “I’m a business owner.” For jobseekers and freelancers, it is advisable to choose the job seeker option, while the second option is better for business owners and employers who want to sell or recruit. Submit and proceed to the next step.
Step 2
When you complete and submit the first step, the next page that pops up on your screen would require that you complete 5 important details to personalize your information and experience. The first is your about me. While filling, you would notice that 4 out of the 5 options have been auto-filled, the only remaining option is your address. The four options that were auto-filled were gotten from the details you filled in when you were creating your Bixex account. Since four options have already been filled, this makes it a lot easier, all you need to do is fill in the last option, submit and proceed to the next step.
Step 3
In this step, you would be required to choose your profile picture. Since Bixex is a professional platform, and your major purpose is to enhance your business or grow your skill, it is advisable to be as professional as you can. Based on this, it is better to provide a professional picture with high definition. Ensure it is smart and clear. If you don’t have a professional picture, you can choose from any of the pictures provided by Bixex. However, this option is not always advisable because, most times, employers or clients prefer to see the picture of the person they are giving their jobs to. Since you are not the one in the picture, they might turn the job to someone else even when you have all the required qualifications. I bet you don’t want this to happen.
Step 4
Fill in your contact information. Note that your contact information is what your potential customers or employer would use in reaching out to you. As such, it is advisable to fill in all three options so that if one is not connecting, the others will. You don’t want to lose a client or customer simply because your only contact information is not connecting. Be smart.
Step 5
This is an important step for job seekers and freelancers. It is the key skill aspect. In this step, fill in as many skills as you have. However, be careful not to fill skills that are not related to your core skill. For instance, if your core skill is writing, options such as articles, business writing, copywriting, content writing, blog post are all related to your key skill. You have no business filling skills like software developer or animation creator as this shares no link with writing. Except, of course, you are good in other skills, fill in interrelated skills. If you have other skills, you can always create a different Bixex account for them. You don’t want to appear like a jack of all trades to your potential client or employer. Be as professional and simple as possible.
Step 6
Still on the key skill page, the two next boxes to tick are for your level of expertise and qualification. For the level of expertise, there are 3 options to choose from. They include “entry-level, intermediate, and expert. Choose the one that best describes your level of expertise. If you are a beginner, do not be ashamed to fill the entry-level. If your experience level is between 1-3, you should choose the intermediate option, while the last option is for people with a 4years+ level of experience.
Next, fill in your qualification and proceed to the next step.
Step 7
The last step is to fill in the options that best describes why you are on Bixex. There are a lot of interests and reasons to choose from. Here are some of the options that would pop up on your screen “market yourself, personal branding, freelance opportunity, job search, find a mentor, professional connection, internship opportunities, and promote page. If all these options agree with your interest and reasons, you can choose all options.
